I then touched the mains socket itself, yup, warm, too warm for my likings, in fact i'd say it was kind of hot for a plastic mains socket. I did notice the kettle used to do a similar thing, which is plugged into a double wall socket about 2 metres from the socket I use the tumble dryer in.
