WebIt appears to add the ability to import/export and edit GIFs in Blender but the last update was in 2024. I just discovered it and haven't tried it yet. If Shotcut goes poorly, I'll try this next. Most of the responses when searching google for GIF making software is about simple web tools and web file converters which is not what I'm looking for.
