Its the linakge type, also sold by Schnell and Speed-6 now. Other than that, change the gear oil. Thats about all you can do. The short shifter will make the gearbox feel even more notchy..but i kind of like the feel.
WebNov 25, 2016 · Check the bolt on the shift lever. It is only supposed to be torqued to about 7-8 ft.-lbs. and if it's overtightened it can make shifting hard and notchy. Back it off and use small hand wrenches to tighten it just past snug. Also that bolt and bushing should be lubricated with white lithium grease.
