WebJan 4, 2010 · We have excess play on the dana 80 on the pinion shaft. We was told the crush sleeve was how they was getting the preload on the bearings. We was also told with lots of play and that being bad that with the torque it tries to walk up the ring gear and that is what gives us the noise. Am I on the right track?
